Stone Mountain Atlanta Georgia Trip

Before the climb!!

This is the time of year I love to travel. It's cooler, less crowded and less expensive. We took a 2 day trip last week to Stone Mountain in Atlanta Georgia. We went to the coke museum and ikea then stopped at one of Atlanta large antique shops. We arrived at our hotel and found that the sky ride up Stone Mountain was closed for maintenance. I guess they close every September for a couple weeks.

Anyway the next day we decided to walk up the mountain. My husband Thursday night sprained his ankle but decided to venture up the mountain anyway.

Stone mountain is 825 feet above ground From the top, experience amazing views of the Atlanta skyline, the Appalachian Mountains and more up to 60 miles away.

The sky hike is amazing, my son had a ball on it.  Visit Sky Hike to trek through the treetops on one of the nation’s largest family adventure course.

Here are some pix I took of our journey up and down the mountain!!

A must see and do if your in Atlanta!

The start of the climb.

Up and Up

looking back, almost to the top.

Almost there, just a bit further!!

We made it to the top!! Beautiful view!!

Heading back down the mountain from the top!

I love this tree, had to take a pix!

Thanks for visiting!!

Nashville Opryland Hotel Visit

Happy Monday!  If you ever wanted to visit Nashville one of the must see places would be the Gaylord Opryland Hotel. My brother and sister in-law came to visit this summer and we took them there, what a great time we had.

The Hotel was flooded back in 2010 but you wouldn't know it to look at it now, it's just as beautiful as ever.  Amazing nine acres of indoor gardens, cascading waterfalls and indoor river with there very own Delta flatboat. Minutes from the airport and close to the exciting downtown, opryland is a sight to see.

The hotel is just amazing at Christmas time with all the lights, displays and the dancing water light show.

ENJOY!

Happy Friday! Hope you all had a great week.

My brother in law is here for a few weeks so we have someone to take care of our miniature horses, we have 15 right now. So we wanted to take a trip within a 5 hour distance so we decided on Atlanta Georgia. I have been there many times but this time we are going to see the Coke museum and Stone Mountain I thought I would base my Favorite Friday artists on stone art. Here are some fun and unique stone art finds. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

And of course we have to stop at ikea..

Have a great weekend  :-)

Happy Friday everyone! This week my art picks have been inspired by flowers. Even though we haven't had a lot of rain lately the flowers still seem to be in bloom here in Tennessee. I went to a yard sale yesterday and the whole side lawn was filled with beautiful flowers.
I wish I had my camera with me.
Artists etsy shop links are above. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do :-)
Have a great holiday weekend!
