Plaster Cloth Mounted Mask Art Project

Hello fun, artsy people. Hope you are having a wonderful summer. I took some time off from the art class for the summer but here is a project we did in the spring using our Styrofoam heads we put faces on a few months ago. If you don't have a styrofoam head and mask you can use a bowl and some newspaper rolled up taped and shaped for facial features. I incourage the kids to have the hair and upper body painted on the board blend in with the mask.

Wait a few hours after your plaster cloth has dryed a bit and pull head off  suran wrap to completely dry for a couple days. Paint mask and board, drill holes in side of mask and board mount mask to board with cording and hang.

The kids always really enjoy making masks...
ENJOY!

  1. Wow- this is pretty cool! I love the one that looks like a superhero! There's a lot of things you could do with this- and I think it would be perfect for school report projects!!! Thanks Christine!
