Our Upstate New York Adirondack Vacation

Vacation in Upstate New York

Our Beautiful relaxing camp in the Adirondacks of New York

Born and raised in upstate New York living in Tennessee. I never quite forget the the smell of the fresh clean air and the beauty of the Adirondack Mountains. I have to say boy do I miss it!!

My son and I took a trip up to see family and friends. We enjoyed lots of boating, fishing, hiking and wonderful camp fires with family.

On our trip up to Indian Lake we decided to take the long way up and visit all the lakes and towns on the way. Many I haven't seen in years. We decided to take a trip up White face mountain.
Here are pix of the top of White face.

If you have never visited the Adirondacks. It's a wonderful vacation place for camping, boating, hiking, sight seeing and just exploring the outdoors. There are plenty of places to stay, just pick a lake, and most all have camping or cabin accommodations. Some of your larger lakes you may want book in advanced.

Stone Mountain Atlanta Georgia Trip

Before the climb!!

This is the time of year I love to travel. It's cooler, less crowded and less expensive. We took a 2 day trip last week to Stone Mountain in Atlanta Georgia. We went to the coke museum and ikea then stopped at one of Atlanta large antique shops. We arrived at our hotel and found that the sky ride up Stone Mountain was closed for maintenance. I guess they close every September for a couple weeks.

Anyway the next day we decided to walk up the mountain. My husband Thursday night sprained his ankle but decided to venture up the mountain anyway.

Stone mountain is 825 feet above ground From the top, experience amazing views of the Atlanta skyline, the Appalachian Mountains and more up to 60 miles away.

The sky hike is amazing, my son had a ball on it.  Visit Sky Hike to trek through the treetops on one of the nation’s largest family adventure course.

Here are some pix I took of our journey up and down the mountain!!

A must see and do if your in Atlanta!

The start of the climb.

Nashville Opryland Hotel Visit

Happy Monday!  If you ever wanted to visit Nashville one of the must see places would be the Gaylord Opryland Hotel. My brother and sister in-law came to visit this summer and we took them there, what a great time we had.

The Hotel was flooded back in 2010 but you wouldn't know it to look at it now, it's just as beautiful as ever.  Amazing nine acres of indoor gardens, cascading waterfalls and indoor river with there very own Delta flatboat. Minutes from the airport and close to the exciting downtown, opryland is a sight to see.

The hotel is just amazing at Christmas time with all the lights, displays and the dancing water light show.

ENJOY!

Visit the Parthenon in Tennessee

Good Morning Monday!
If you ever wanted to visit Nashville one of the must see places would be the Parthenon. We had family visiting this summer and went into Nashville for the day, what a great time we had.
The Parthenon was originally built for Tennessee's 1897 Centennial Exposition, this replica of the original Parthenon in Athens serves as a monument to what is considered the pinnacle of classical architecture.
If you are planning a trip to Nashville and would like to visit the Parthenon here is there web site.
Definitely a must see!
Here are some photos of our visit.

Chihuly at Tennessee Aquarium

We went to Chattanooga for a few days and stopped at the Tennessee Aquarium and they have a gorgeous Chihuly glass exhibit.
Chihuly’s “Macchia” series, a large collection of unusually-shaped bowls that the artist says remind him of the deep sea, will be on display with the jellies at the Tennessee Aquarium. Taking note that the colors of stained glass windows look more vibrant with a foggy backdrop, Chihuly uses a layer of white glass to make the colors of his “Macchia” bowls maintain their vibrancy.
Here are pix of the Jellies and glass we took.
