Our Upstate New York Adirondack Vacation

Vacation in Upstate New York

Our Beautiful relaxing camp in the Adirondacks of New York

Born and raised in upstate New York living in Tennessee. I never quite forget the the smell of the fresh clean air and the beauty of the Adirondack Mountains. I have to say boy do I miss it!!

My son and I took a trip up to see family and friends. We enjoyed lots of boating, fishing, hiking and wonderful camp fires with family.

On our trip up to Indian Lake we decided to take the long way up and visit all the lakes and towns on the way. Many I haven't seen in years. We decided to take a trip up White face mountain.
Here are pix of the top of White face.

If you have never visited the Adirondacks. It's a wonderful vacation place for camping, boating, hiking, sight seeing and just exploring the outdoors. There are plenty of places to stay, just pick a lake, and most all have camping or cabin accommodations. Some of your larger lakes you may want book in advanced.

The Black Cow on Vacation

We live on a six acre farm and have miniature horses a dog and two barn cats. We are pretty use to seeing turkey, deer and other furry cute critters running around on our land. Well yesterday we were heading down to the Nashville flea/antique market as we pulled out of our driveway, much to our surprise there was a black cow down in front of our neighbors yard. Just as happy as could be grazing on the lush green grass.

When we pulled up she didn't get startled a bit so I snapped some photos of her but the minute I spoke to her she decided that was it she was going to make a run for it. So she run up to the neighbors house and turned her butt towards us. I'm sure hoping that would make us go away. As I spoke to her more she then turn to see if we left.

She must have decided she needed a vacation and took a little walk. The nearest cow farm is about 1/2 mile away. So she diffidently did some traveling.
When we left she was happily grazing on the plants and grass.

Wonderful way to start the morning. It put a smile on our faces.

On the run

My New Camera Photos and Options

I just purchased a new camera, Nikon D5100 one I have been wanting for awhile. My old camera has taken a lot of photos and has done me well but it was time to change.

The camera was delivered on Friday and I have had some chance to play with it. Of course right away I wanted to try the effects on the camera to see what it can do. The pix below are taken with the selective color setting which is really fun. All colors other then selected colors are recorded in black and white.

It's much lighter then my old camera and I bought the VR 18 - 55 and VR 55-200 lens. So far the little I have played with it I love it already.

I like to try out the camera first on just automatic to see what it can do. The pix where taken in my house with no extra lighting just point and shoot. I think it did very well.
I will be sharing more photos as I play with the camera some more.

Thanks for Visiting!

My inspiring Art and Nature Walk Part 1

These photos were taken on a walk over to may horse barn in the morning. I am always amazed by the inspiring nature all around me. The colors, shapes and textures. I had quite a few photos so I will be posting part 1 and part 2.

Below is a tall dead tree stump on our land.

Our Peach tree blossoming.

There are some amazing rocks here in Tennessee.
But I think these may be to heavy to make a necklace.

And of course my little ones have to rush right over to see what I am up to. This is FlutterBy and she is 4 yrs and 28"h.
